Durham Castle – The wedding venue

Durham Castle is an absolutely stunning location to have your wedding with a number of locations. There is the Normal Chapel, which is a very intimate chapel within the castle itself, the Norman Gallery on the upper floors which is beautifully lit down one side and is a perfect place for civil ceremonies. If you have the opportunity for an outdoor wedding there is the Fellowes Garden which sits within the boundaries of the castle walls.  The Great Hall is a grand affair and perfect for large weddings although even small wedding don’t feel out of place.  The top table is raised up on a stage which really adds to the grand feel.
