Websters Ropery – The Wedding Venue
Built in 1793, Websters Ropery is a Grade II listed building sitting right on the banks of the River Wear in Sunderland. The building has been living restored to give an amazing modern backdrop to any wedding whilst still retaining a lot of the original features such as the open fireplace in the bar, exposed stonework and open roof beams.
The venue us very easy to access in the middle of Sunderland with ample parking for a large wedding but still far enough way so you feel like you are in a secluded venue where you can enjoy your wedding in private with your family and friends. Websters Ropery has an outdoor sitting area a stones throw from the river making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy your day outside when the weather permits.
Websters Ropery Weddings
The Venue is deceiving from the outside as it has a lot of space to use with a variety of areas. You can start your day with some Dutch courage in the Websters Bar, greeting your guests as they arrive before heading up to the well lit Queens View suite for the ceremony. The banqueting suite is beautifully decorated with a raised stage area for your top table, allowing you to see the full room while delivering your speech. For your reception you have the use of the Queens View Suite and the bar area and if the weather is good, the outdoor area too.
